Storm Season Novela: Episode 15
✨ Juliette’s Rain, Kiko’s Spin, and Almost Lorena!
Our 10th named storm of the season, Juliette, never came close to Los Cabos — but wow, did she steal the show with one of the most intense lightning and thunder displays many of us have seen in decades. She became an official cast member on August 24 and wrapped up her career on August 28, 2025, as a remnant low.
As I shared on Facebook the morning of the 26th:
“Yes, that thunder and lightning show may have been the most intense in decades! No lightning pics… it was way too crazy to stand outside holding up a phone like a human lightning rod. ⚡️”
That same burst temporarily zapped my station — reporting 120°F with a “feels like” of 250°F. Don’t worry, it’s back online.
🌧️ Juliette left her mark — my station officially caught 2.52″, but with winds topping 20+ mph, the real total here in Cabo San Lucas was closer to 3.5–4.5 inches. Nearby areas got even more.

👋 Meanwhile, Kiko is twirling harmlessly far away.

👀 And yes… tropical depression 94E (a.k.a. almost Lorena) is waiting in the wings. If named, she’d be our 13th storm of the season. Depending on which model wins the drama, she (and a few “random” mainland-born thunderstorms) could bring us more rain as early as tomorrow or as late as Thursday night — with possible totals of 4–6 inches.

September is usually our wettest month — so buckle up, the novela is just getting good. Or not. It kind of depends on Lorena!
