An update/follow-up on yesterdays rain in Cabo San Lucas

By: Just Jenn

This is a follow-up on yesterdays rain storm. Some of the rain did come from Fabio, but most of it came from a thunderstorm that came over from mainland. I am only covering my personal experience in Cabo San Lucas (I know other areas had it much worse) and am sharing a few X/Twitter stories as Facebook posts aren’t working right today.

As you can see from the graphics below from my personal weather station, it looks like Mexico’s meteorlogists were the ones that got it right. I received more than 0.77 inches of rain, but the winds always blow some of the water from the stations cup. 🤷‍♀️

I am not going to rehash in detail what many of you already know about my home and how damaged it is from vibrational damage, but for me, this is what it is like to live in Pedregal. This is just ONE bedroom that we had to take everything out of, and a few of the countless buckets (other bedrooms look the same 😢)

Enough about me, as others have it SO much worse.

The streets are mostly dry and debris is already being cleaned up downtown.

Even though the port was closed, a few boats were out and as you can see from the X post I found online, it didn’t turn out so well for some of them.

😱 #FIND OUT: Boats run aground in the bay of #CaboSanLucas; the strong waves dragged them to the shore, so fishermen and service providers helped return them to a deeper area >>

One charter boat caught fire yesterday 😑

🔥 #FIND OUT: Emergency teams went to the Tourist Marina of #CaboSanLucas, where a boat fire was reported; so far no victims or major damage to the infrastructure have been reported >>

As previously mentioned in older blog posts, the streets always flood during rain especially when it all comes down at once. To reiterate, the streets are dry now in most areas.

If you were here during the storm and can share YOUR experience from other areas in the region, please comment below.
