Storm Season Novela – Episode #11 Tropical Storm Henriette

Storm Season Novela – Episode #11

Tropical Storm Gil briefly made a name for himself by becoming a Category 1 Hurricane… before promptly losing steam and tapping out two days ago.

So now, I introduce you to Tropical Storm Henriette, which formed yesterday and is currently less than 1,100 miles WSW of Cabo San Lucas, heading WNW.

Unlike Gil, Henriette has the potential to cross into the Central Pacific and say mahalo to Hawaii. I think it’s the promise of leis — but chances are she won’t make much of an impression. Time will tell.

Here in Cabo San Lucas, we are keeping an eye on a low-pressure system with a 70% chance of developing in the next 48 hours, and a 90% chance over the next 7 days.

The potential storm (currently known as Invest 91E) is about 1,480 miles south of us, so… we’ll see if and when he levels up and earns a name — maybe “Ivo”? 🤷‍♀️

Even if he only brings us the chance of some much-needed rain — and with those famously unreliable long-range forecast models showing “almost-Ivo” passing south of us, maybe (or maybe not) following Henriette’s lead — we’re watching him closely.

At the very least, we’ll probably see larger waves, like we have with other storms passing to the south.

All in all, I’m calling this episode more of a sneak preview.

In the meantime, the weather’s been awesome!

Xoxo
