That is one of the most frequently asked questions on Travel Sites and Travel Related social media sites. This is not just about whether the water is safe, but also about being environmentally friendly. We just use too much plastic. So if either of those subjects interest you … please read on.

In Cabo, the answer is – even the locals do not drink water from the tap (I am pretty sure we all brush our teeth without worry, I do … but I wouldn’t drink MY homes water unless it went through the Berkey first).

NOTE:  YES, the ice in your drinks is filtered and totally fine … just don’t go munching on the ice from the beer buckets. blech.

That being said, many resorts and even private villas that can be rented will often have a sign that will tell you that yes, the water from the tap IS in fact, potable (safe to drink).  The only issue you may encounter with using your own water bottle is at the All Inclusive Resorts.  They like to keep you locked up in those places … but that’s a babble rant for another day.
