🎬 Fausto Is Still Holding the Lead… But a New Cast Member Is Waiting in the Wings
Hurricane Fausto continues moving westward over the open Pacific while holding steady with maximum sustained winds of 80 mph (130 km/h).
Over the past day, Fausto has repeatedly tried to organize, only to have dry air disrupt its inner core. The National Hurricane Center says those periodic intrusions of dry air are likely to keep causing fluctuations in the hurricane’s structure, even though it remains a hurricane for now.
The good news for Baja California Sur hasn’t changed.
📍 Fausto remains far offshore.
📍 No coastal watches or warnings are in effect.
📍 The forecast continues to take the storm westward, farther away from Mexico before it eventually weakens over cooler water.
🌊 Swells generated by Fausto continue affecting west-facing beaches along Baja California Sur and are now reaching portions of Southern California.
⚠️ Dangerous surf and life-threatening rip currents remain possible, even though the center of the hurricane is far away.

While Fausto slowly exits center stage, Invest 98E is quietly becoming the next system to watch.
The National Hurricane Center says a tropical depression is likely to form this weekend as the disturbance moves west-northwestward well offshore of southwestern Mexico.
At this time, there is no indication of a direct threat to Los Cabos, but hurricane season is just getting started, and we’ll continue keeping an eye on it.
