May Weather in Cabo San Lucas 2020-2025

May in Cabo San Lucas — straight from my icabos3 station (2020–2025):

This is the real transition month.

Temperatures are climbing, hurricane season officially starts May 15… but on the ground, it still mostly feels like the tail end of dry season.

Temperatures:

– Days: mid to upper 90s (sometimes pushing 98–99°F at my location)

– Nights: low to mid 60s

Rain? Still rare.

5 out of 6 years: 0.00″.

The only measurable rain was a quick 0.21″ at the very end of May 2025 — the kind that passes fast but makes a mess for a minute.

Wind: You’ll still get some breeze, but not like March and April. It’s there… just not the main event anymore.

This is when people start watching the tropics a little more closely, even though locally it’s still mostly sunny, dry, and heating up.

ENSO note (simple + real):

We’re in neutral conditions now, with a chance of El Niño developing later in 2026. May usually doesn’t feel much from that — the bigger impacts tend to show up later in the season.

Bottom line: hotter, mostly dry, and the quiet lead-in to hurricane season.

I’ll keep going month by month with my actual data and screenshots.

Do you start watching the maps in May… or still just enjoying the heat?

Jenn
