🌴 Hurricane Season Novela 2026 – Douglas Exits the Stage

Tropical Storm Douglas has officially become a post-tropical cyclone, and the National Hurricane Center has issued its final advisory.

Douglas never posed a threat to land and will continue weakening over cooler water.

👋 Farewell, Douglas. You had approximately one episode.

Promoted to Tropical Storm on July 1. Spent basically one day as a named storm. Never threatened land. Never got stronger than 40 mph. Lost all organized convection and became post-tropical early July 3. The NHC’s final advisory notes it had not produced organized deep convection for 12 hours, had an exposed low-level center due to shear, and that redevelopment was not expected because of increasing shear, dry air, and cooler sea-surface temperatures.

And now… 🎬 Exit stage left. 🎭

As one cast member exits, another has shown up for auditions. A new tropical wave has a 20% chance of development over the next 7 days as it moves west across the eastern Pacific.

It’s far from Los Cabos, and there’s nothing to watch locally at this time—just another name trying out for a future role.

We’ll keep an eye on it, but for now… the weather is much quieter than the drama. 🌴🌀
