Just when Fausto appeared ready for an encore, dry air decided to audition for the lead role.

Over the past 24 hours we’ve watched Fausto weaken slightly, reorganize, strengthen again… and now encounter another round of dry air that’s disrupting the hurricane’s structure. The National Hurricane Center says the eyewall is no longer completely closed, so the intensity has been lowered for now.

🌀 Fausto remains the first hurricane of the 2026 eastern Pacific season and continues moving west-northwest, farther away from Baja California Sur.
📍 No coastal watches or warnings are in effect.
🌊 Swells and dangerous rip currents remain the primary concern along west-facing beaches in Baja California Sur.
🎭 Meanwhile… our next potential cast member remains well south of Mexico with a 90% chance of development over the next seven days.

As always, I’ll continue sharing meaningful updates if the forecast changes.
xoxo,
Jenn
