With 15 days until the start of the East Pacific Hurricane season which runs from May 15th through November 30th, I thought maybe we should start looking for forecasts. So far, I’ve found one but why wait for more? We know the NHC usually is one of the last to put one out.
The 2021 names chosen for this year in the East Pacific are as follows:
Andres, Blanca, Carlos, Dolores, Enrique, Felicia, Guillermo, Hilda, Ignacio, Jimena, Kevin, Linda, Marty, Nora, Olaf, Pamela, Rick, Terry, Vivian, Waldo, Xina, York and Zelda.
It should be noted that while we are still in La Nina, the experts are predicting we will be moving into a neutral cycle.
First up is the Semar forecast.
I cut to the chase and grabbed a screenshot

While we wait for the rest of the gang to put out forecasts, I’ll end this one with a graphic showing hurricane strengths and remind everyone that just because they are predicting about 20 named systems, does not mean all, some or any will have major impact on land. Though we know how I feel about neutral seasons …

I rushed this one. Sorry! I’ll be more detailed when we start getting more forecasts for the season.
