Several days ago everyone on social media in the Los Cabos region including myself, wondered what was on fire. To some it smelled like wood, others plastic. I’ve known for a few days it was the local “dump” that is up near Migrino (20 miles or so from the norther part of Cabo San Lucas.

The cause however is still unknown but as of 4 days ago, it was presumed to be under control.
In a copy paste using the rarealy accurate but your get the gist of it translation, Chief Juan Antonio Carbajal Figueroa said on Facebook, “After 4 days of hard work of the whole team of #BomberosCSL the fire of the filling under control, with the participation of civil protection partners of #CaboSanLucas SAPALC, Land and Water Truck Operators, Heavy machinery, and other corporations; plus the support of the CSL Representative and the Municipal President PROFE LEGGS” with the following image.

However, just now on Instagram reported by the Gringo Gazette, we see this post from 9 hours ago.

In other more positve news, again, a copy/paste, “Today the regional airline #SeñorAir starts operations. The airline based in Cabo San Lucas, Baja California, flew to Los Mochis today morning, covering flight SEN701 with an Embraer 135ER license plate XA-SEN.
The aircraft returned to Cabo San Lucas, hours later to make a flight to Mazatlán.
At its start, the airline will have four weekly flights to Los Mochis, six weekly flights to Mazatlán, two weekly flights to Guadalajara, and Puerto Vallarta.”

Personally, I think Senor Air has a nice ring to it. 😀
